    72nd CONSTITUTION DAY (LAW DAY)

    The School of Law, IMS Unison University celebrated the 72nd National Law Day on 26th November, 2021. The exuberant event witnessed the virtual presence of Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Director, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi as the Chief Guest and guest speaker.

     

    The event was started with the Poster Making Competition at Activity Area (Seminar Hall) on the theme “Preamble at the time of Covid 19” in which total 25 students from all schools participated and put their best effort in the competition. Thereafter, “Nukkad Natak” on the theme “Fundamental Rights” was organized at Central Plaza, where total 20 students from all the schools participated and performed.

     

    In afternoon, there was a Guest Lecture scheduled which was started by brief note about the Indian Constitution by Ms. Kajal Choudhary, Assistant Professor, School of Law both in online and offline mode. Before starting the ceremony, the audible power point presentation prepared by the students of LL.M on the theme “Development of Indian Constitution from 26th November 1949 till date”.

     

    The National Constitution Day ceremony commenced with the welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) R.N. Sharma, Dean School of Law, he expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest for adding charm to the event. He evaluated the significance of the event on bringing to light to the importance of Constitution Day.

     

    Prof. (Dr.) Gautam Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, further enlightened by his exhilarating words of wisdom. He edified the relevance of Law in changing times and illustrated the importance of constitution in life of every citizen of India.

     

    Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Director, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, in his adrenalizing declamation, epitomized the significance of Preamble of our Constitution. He further elucidated the various Articles of the Constitution putting focus on current changes including right to development and right to health. He illustrated the fundamental duties of every citizen toward the nation and how the Constitution embodies every aspect of law and legislation which molds the structure of our welfare state to and to achieve the goals enshrined in the Constitution through maintenance of peace and harmony in the society.

     

    After the address of Chief Guest, the prize distribution ceremony was held at Seminar Hall, wherein the certificates for winners of Poster Making Competition (for the first, second and third prize) and Participation was distributed along with the book edited by Prof. (Dr.) R. N. Sharma, Dean School of Law. The chief guest appreciated the efforts made by the School of Law IMS Unison University, Dehradun.

    Mr. Kshitij Rai, Assistant Professor, School of Law, concluded the event with the vote of thanks.
