    72nd Republic Day celebrations at IUU

    IMS Unison University, Dehradun celebrated the 72nd  Republic Day with great fervor on 26th January, 2021 at the university campus in the presence of august gathering of dignitaries and students. The inaugural procession commenced by paying tribute to the martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our independence and made it possible to adopt a written constitution in 1950. All the dignitaries, faculty, students and staff of the University gathered at the Central Plaza to witness the glory of the Tricolour. Among the dignitaries who attended the function were the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Gautam Sinha; the Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ravikesh Srivastav; the Registrar, Col. Pranav Kumar, the Dean, Student’s Welfare, Prof. Amit Adlakha and the Deans of all Schools of the university.


    Prof. Gautam Sinha, Vice Chancellor, IMS Unison University hoisted the National Flag, which was followed by the singing of the National Anthem by everyone.


    It is said, the main hope for a nation lies in the education of its youth. In his address, Mr. Sinha emphasized the same and stated that the idea of a nation lies in the very sense of belonging in the hearts of its citizens. He also stated that Independence is not only achieved at administrative level but also at personal, social and cultural level.  He emphasized on the role of inter-disciplinary education and applied knowledge in the contemporary world alongside urging the students to keep their heads held high in patriotism and to proudly announce themselves as Indian citizens as India is the largest republic in the world and every 6th person in the world is an Indian.


    Sweets were distributed to the students, and the staff members were invited for high tea as the 72nd Republic Day celebrations at IUU took full flight under the glorified Tri-colour.
