    AWARENESS SESSION ON WORLD FOOD DAY AT SOHM

    The United Nation Organization's, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) was established on 16th October in 1945. To commemorate this day, World Food Day is celebrated every year on 16 th October with a new theme. The objective is to create awareness about the existing problems of food insecurity and hunger around the globe.

     

    This year the World Food Day 2020 theme is "Grow, Nourish, Sustain, Together.


    Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Rana, Dean -SoHM conducted an awareness session on 16-10-2020, for all hospitality students on understanding the importance of Food Hero’s- the Farmers and food chain retailors. More than 1 out of 9 of world population does not get to eat. Food Wastage is a global concern and in Indian 40 percent of the food that we produce goes waste. As a Food Hero, it becomes imperative duty of everyone to choose healthy local food, grow our own food at home, respect environment and food by wasting less food.

     

    We can grow, nourish, and sustain together.
