Earth Day Celebration at IMS Unison University

On the occasion of Earth Day, celebrated every year on 22nd April, IMS Unison University organized a poster making activity and a plantation drive to create awareness among students. The event was organized to mark the importance of this day so that the students and upcoming generations can understand the need of preserving the Earth and its resources which may not remain renewable as they are being exhausted at an alarming rate. The idea of plantation is to emphasize on the need of growing more trees to combat the problems such as climate change, global warming and adverse changes in weather phenomenon across the globe.

Every year Earth Day is celebrated to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s natural environment. The Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environment teach-in first on 22nd April 1970. It now is observed in more than 193 countries around the world.

The Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Deans of all schools, faculties and students participated in the celebration with great enthusiasm and zeal to understand the issue and pledge to protect the planet. Student of all schools drew posters with environmental thoughts and messages and planted trees in the campus to mark the occasion.
