FDP on Case Method Teaching and Case Writing Day 1

A two day FDP on Case Method Teaching and Case Writing was inaugurated today at School of Management, IMS Unison University. The FDP is being organized in association with Case Research Society of India, Chennai. Hon’ble Chancellor Gurdip Singh and Vice Chancellor Gautam Sinha graced the occasion. The ceremony started with lighting of the lamp and invocation to Goddess Sarswati. Dr. Kalyani Rangarajan, Dean, School of Management welcomed the delegates and dignitaries and gave an overview of the program. The two resource persons of the FDP,Prof. N Ravichandran (Former Director-IIM Indore) and Mr. K M Padmanabhan (Chartered Accountant & Founder Secretary-CRSI) were welcomed and felicitated by the Vice Chancellor

The Chancellor declared the FDP open.Participants from various universities and institutions actively participated in pre and post lunch sessions. The pre-lunch session was conducted by Prof. Ravi chandran wherein he enlightened the participants about how to analyze a case thoroughly. He also emphasized on discussion in classroom while teaching various theoretical concepts. The second pre-lunch session was taken by Lav Nigam, Regional Manager, Harvard Business Publishing. He shared the information regarding how educators can get access to various cases, tutorials, articles and other educational resources from Harvard Publishing Website.The post lunch session was conducted by Mr. Padmanabhan. He discussed the intricacies and approaches of using a case study in classroom teaching. There was active participation and the day ended on an enthusiastic note with participants eagerly looking forward Day 2 sessions.
