Joining hands with the rest of the country, IMS Unison University (IUU) today celebrated the 7th International Yoga Day with great fervor. The theme for this year’s International Yoga Day 2021 is ‘Yoga for Well-Being’. Dr. Sushil Kumar Rai, Associate Dean, School of Mass Communication, and Dr. Amit Adlakha, Dean of Student Welfare on this special occasion organized a Yoga event at the University premises. The Vice-Chancellor Dr. Gautam Sinha, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ravikesh Srivastava, Deans of all Schools, faculty members, and administrative staff joined the celebrations.
On this occasion, three different sessions dedicated to Asanas, Pranayam, and Dhyaan were explained and demonstrated by Dr. Sushil Kumar Rai. In his address, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Gautam Sinha stated, that yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India and is now practiced in various forms around the world. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ravikesh Srivastava said, that yoga is an ancient method for meditation that helps in the relaxation of mind and body.
Dr. Sushil Kumar Rai stressed the need to incorporate Yogic discipline into our lives. He stated Yoga is an invaluable gift of Indian culture to the whole world. Yoga not only provides mental and physical relaxation but also helps in developing resilience and strength. It is a way of life and belongs to humanity as a whole.
