Internal Faculty Seminar on the topic “Contemporary Techno Legal Issues”

School of Law, IMS Unison University, organized an Internal Faculty Seminar on the topic “Contemporary Techno Legal Issues”. The Topic of the Seminar was addressed by Dr. Shoaib Mohammad, Assistant Professor of School of Law. He has discussed the relationship of the Law with Technology and opined that as the Law cannot be enacted / amended on day-to-day basis the cases relating to Technology should be dealt with following the principles of precedents. In case of Cyber Crimes, he stated that the principle of trespass by the chattels should be followed. Where, the court can decide the matter on the basis of damages caused. Regarding Motor Vehicle Act, he explained that the scope of Section 164 of the Motor Vehicle Act and opined that the principle of whether the Vehicle was in use or not should be taken care of. So far as medical negligence is concerned the court should not blindly accept the opinion of the fellow colleague to determine whether the doctor was negligent or not in undertaking the operation but if the opinion appears to be logical than the court can accepted. During the discussion he cited cases decided by Canadian Courts, English Courts and cases decided by Supreme Court of India. The session was attended by all the faculty members. It was interactive one and the speaker answered all the quarries raised by the participants. Dr. Sarita Singh, Assistant Professor proposed vote of thanks.
