    SoHM creates record in Culinary Preparations

    The School of Hospitality Management made an attempt on 24/4/19 at creating new record to be sent for inclusion in ‘Limca Book of Record (LBR) upcoming edition 2020, by assembling of 351`varieties of Canapes (small appetizer food items).The assembling of 351 varieties canapés, four pieces of each variety , within 150 minutes was the feat attempted by team of students from School of Hospitality and other Schools of IMS Unison University, staff and faculty member, named “Fantastic 34,” headed by Mr.Abhay Chamoli, Assistant Professor. In total 1404 canapés were prepared.

     

    The entire event was aimed at assembling maximum varieties of Canapés in minimum possible time. The event showcased various popular international canapé varieties with different types of crusted base, spreads and toppings which will be prepared by team “Fantastic 34” under the monitoring and guidance of Chef Abhay Chamoli, Assistant Professor at School of Hospitality Management.

     

    The faculty members Mr. Amit Tariyal, Mr Rahul Tiwari, Ms Deepti Bhatt and Lab in charge Mr. Mahender Kumar, Mr. Rajesh Kumar and Mr. Purshotam had been the team heads for various student teams conducting research on new recipes development of canapés.

     

    The event started with the flag off by Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Ravikesh Srivastav at 10:30 am in the morning and concluded at 1:00 pm, thus clocking 150 minutes.

     

    The event was witnessed and verified by panel of judges: Dr Jagdeep Khanna, Principal-IHM Dehradun, Mr Pramod Chamoli, Comptroller-Rajbhavan Uttarakhand, Mr Vishal Rana Executive Engineer- UPCL, Ms. Anvita Kishore Manager L & D Antara Senior Living, Chef Tanuj Nayyar- Executive Chef- Jaypee Mussoorie and Chef Rahul Wali.
