“Sevaarth-Ek Pahal” – SOCIAL OUTREACH EVENT

The Social Responsibility and Community Engagement Cell of School of Management organized a social outreach event “Sevaarth-Ek Pahal” on 16th & 17th September 2022. The two-day event commenced with the inaugural session with Ms. Neelu Khanna, a renowned social entrepreneur and Secretary, Aasra Trust, Dehradun as the Chief Guest for the occasion.

Prof. Gurdip Singh, Chancellor, IMS Unison University shared his words of wisdom and sensitized the students of social responsibility and community engagement cell and apprised them about the pivotal role that these activities play in bringing about inclusivity in the society and social upliftment.

Dr. Garima, University Coordinator of SRCE Cell apprised the dignitaries and students of the various initiatives that have been taken by the SRCE Cell in the recent past and encouraged students to participate as social change makers.

The Chief Guest of the event, Ms. Neelu Khanna, Founder, Aastra Trust enlightened the students by sharing her enriching experiences of working for social cause. She also inspired students by emphasizing on the need of serving our society with a selfless approach that we citizens must adopt to contribute towards the upliftment and empowerment of our own people thereby making a positive and lasting change in their lives at large.

The inauguration was successfully concluded with an interactive session was taken for SRCE students by the associates, Ms. Roli Verma and Mr. Devashish Pandey pertaining to joining the Aasra Trust. Students were exuberated upon knowing the fruitful outcomes of the endeavors made by Assra Trust since more than a decade.

This was followed by our social change makers’ visit to the ‘education centre’ of Aasra Trust at Kanwali Road, Dehradun where they interacted with the students and identified their learning gaps to device techniques to abridge them.

On 17th September 2022, our students went to “Nagal Basti” area and carried out a research study, developed an in-depth understanding of prevailing problems and identified feasible solutions. The two-day event provided learning to the students.
