    Faculty Research Seminar Series

To foster a research culture, the School of Management has commenced a Faculty Research Seminar Series. The series is intended to give an impetus to research activities and enthuse the students to think of doing research as an alternative career in the School of Management. It has given an excellent platform to all faculty members to share their research work.

Dr. Harish Kumar has given a frame work for transforming a city into a smart city.  He has used crowd-sourcing to receive the ideas related to improvement in infrastructure and services in cities. To categorize the received 869 ideas, he performed qualitative content analysis. As a result, 19 categories were formed on thematic basis. A Smart City Transformation Framework (SCTF) has been proposed in terms of planning phase, development of physical infrastructure, ICT layer and deployment of smart solutions. To illustrate the interlinkages among all the received ideas, mind mapping technique was used. The findings of the study suggest the step wise understanding of smart city development to accomplish the Indian smart city mission projects.

The ensuing lively Q and A session focused on use of technology to make a city smart.
