THE DEAN

Prof. (Dr.) Asha Verma is an accomplished academician and legal scholar with an illustrious career spanning over 23 years. An alumna of the Department of Law, Kurukshetra University, Haryana, she has made exceptional contributions to the field of law through her teaching, research and leadership roles.

Dr. Verma has published extensively in leading national and international journals and has presented over 120 research papers at esteemed conferences and seminars worldwide. She has also undertaken impactful research projects in collaboration with reputed NGOs and State governments, showcasing her dedication to bridging academic inquiry with societal development.

As a committed member of various professional organizations, Dr. Verma is affiliated with the Indian Society of International Law, All-India Law Teachers’ Congress, The Indian Society of Labour Economics, Australian Labour Law Association (Melbourne), Asian Association of Law Professors (Kathmandu), and The Asian Law and Society Association (Seoul, South Korea), Council for European Studies, Temple University, among others.

Dr. Verma has contributed significantly to the advancement of legal scholarship as a member of editorial boards for various academic and professional journals. She is frequently invited as a resource person and guest speaker at prestigious national and international platforms, where she shares her expertise and insights. She has been awarded with the Phenomenal SHE-2024 Award, presented by Hon’ble Mr. Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, former Chief Justice of India and Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, on March 2024. She was awarded as the ‘Best Woman Performer in Academic Leadership Award’ from the GISR Foundation at the 5th International Inspirational Women Awards in July 2024. She was awarded. She received the ‘Dean of the Year’ for Academic Achievement Award in March 2025. She has also received the ‘National Women Leadership Award’, from Hon’ble Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal, on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2025. She has also been awarded the ‘Outstanding Dean-Leadership Award’ on 7th August 2025.

Her global exposure includes extensive travels to Australia, London, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Russia, South Korea, Japan and beyond, enriching her professional and personal journey. These experiences have deepened her understanding of diverse legal systems and cultures, fostering a holistic and inclusive perspective in her work.
