DEAN'S PROFILE SCHOOL OF LAW

THE DEAN

Dr Ashish Verma is a distinguished Professor and currently serves as the Dean at the School of Law at IMS Unison University, Dehradun. With a rich academic background, he previously held the position of Professor and Associate Dean at the School of Law and Justice at Adamas University, Kolkata. His tenure also includes serving as an Associate Professor at UPES and heading the Department of Law and Social Sciences at the School of Law, University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun.
Dr Verma's expertise extends to various domains, as evidenced by his accomplished endeavours. He completed a one-week Industry Attachment program with the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, New Delhi. Furthermore, he successfully concluded a project on Gender Budgeting for the government of Uttarakhand.
His eminence as an academician and industry trainer is evident through his invitations as a resource person to numerous seminars, conferences, workshops, and Faculty Development Programs. He has contributed significantly to the training sessions of industry professionals from renowned organisations like HPCL, IOCL, and others, delivering lectures on Energy Laws and Environmental Laws.
Dr. Verma boasts expertise in dispute resolution and holds credentials as a Trained Mediator through international training. Beyond academia, he served as a Member of the University Societal Interventions Team from 2017 to 2021. As part of this initiative, he worked towards the capability development of prison inmates at the Dehradun Central Jail, providing training and enriching library resources to facilitate their rehabilitation upon completing their sentences.
