Film fare Award Winner and Cinematographer Mr Vikram Amladi with SOMC students

In order to brief the students of School of Mass Communication about the current trends and skills practiced in the Film Industry, an in-house guest lecture b y f a m o u s M u m b a i B a s e d Cinematographer Vikram Amladi was held on February 8, 2019. Amladi is winner of the Best Cinematography Award at the Marathi Filmfare 2015 and the Pune International Film Festival 2014. During the session, Amladi discussed the art of filmmaking and spoke about the importance of a cordial relationship between the Director and Cinematographer. He mentioned the roles and responsibilities of a Cinematographer and explained the new technologies that are used in the industry for filmmaking. He also spoke about lighting techniques, aesthetics of the composition, conveying the mood of the scene through the camera, and the artistic skill and dynamic role of cinematography in production. Amladi shared his experiences of working on various award-winning films and displayed various videos that were shot by him. During the end of the session, the students also got an opportunity to showcase their short films and gain valuable advice on them. 

The session was a highly interactive and enriching experience for students who wish to pursue a career in films.
