INTERNAL FACULTY SEMINAR

On 29^th September 2020, Ms. Garima Trivedi, Assistant Professor, School of Law, IUU presented a paper titled “Gender Neutral Rape Laws: Need of the hour” as part of the Faculty Seminar.

Ms. Garima has pointed out that the Indian Law recognize a gender specific Laws for rape. The central idea of her discussion was that women cannot be only victim of rape even men’s and trans genders can also be victims too. She also quoted various Landmark Judgments in her discussion. At the end, she concluded her discussion with the highlights of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill, 2019  which has been drafted with the main object to bring  concept of gender neutrality laws specially in the area of sexual offences in India.
