    INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY

    On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, School of Law organised an event on 10th December, 2019. The event was adorned by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Gautam Sinha and Hon'ble Chief Guest Mr. V. K. Maheswari, Former Registrar General of Uttarakhand High Court. The theme of the subject was introduced by Gautam Jaiswal, a student of LL.M. Mr. Maheswari, addressed the gathering with his informative speech on Human Rights. His elaborative speech addressed the major issues of human rights guarantees that the Constitution makers have carefully bestowed the Indian citizens through the instrument of the Constitution of India. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, reminisced the brutal execution of the Jews during the World War II holocaust and drew its parallel to the current circumstances that India is witnessing today in the form of various linguistic and minority persecutions.  Further, Prof. (Dr.) Ram Niwas Sharma, Dean, School of Law enlightened everyone with his words of wisdom and drew much needed attention towards the ‘Encounter Killing’ of Hyderabad which is a major blow on the belief in Indian Justice system and its competency. The event ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Shoaib Mohammad, Faculty Convener of the event.
