Webinar on ‘Career in Radio Media’ organized by SOMC

A webinar on the topic, 'Career in Radio Media' was conducted by the School of Mass Communication as part of its orientation programme. The resource person for the webinar was the talented Radio Jockey Ms Geetika Uniyal, currently working with Rainbow FM, All India Radio.

Ms Uniyal, an alumnus of the School of Mass Communication, shared her experiences working in the Radio industry. She spoke about the basics of Radio like voice modulation, diction, speaking in front of a microphone, and the importance of understanding of content while speaking for Radio. Encouraging the students to follow a career path in Radio, Ms Uniyal asked them to read regularly and practice various elements of voice modulation.

In her concluding discussion, she emphasized that Community radio is the best medium to educate and create awareness. She then happily answered the questions of the students and wished them luck for their future.

The interactive webinar then concluded with the students enthusiastically participating in an RJ Talent Hunt. Overall, it was a fun and enriching session for the new batch.
