  • Dr. Vinay Rana

    Experience: 28 years (Industry & Academics)
    Prof. (Dr) Vinay Rana has vast experience in Hospitality Industry, Academics, and Research, spanning over 28 years. He is a well-respected trainer in hospitality education and has established and developed various professional hospitality institutes in Northern India. He started his career in the capacity of a chef, and worked in various prestigious hotel properties, both, in India & overseas. Indian Hospitality Congress has conferred the “Aspiring Researcher Welcome Award’’ to Dr Vinay Rana for the year 2015-16. In the year 2016, he received the “Educator of the year Award 2016” by International Society for Hospitality Education and he is also the recipient of “Global Hospitality Leadership Award 2018”, “Academic and Research Excellence Award 2019,” and ‘Global Hospitality Award 2019 (-Best Mentor in Hospitality Education), felicitated at International Conferences. He has authored/ co-authored/ edited nine books on hospitality subjects and contributed chapters to four hospitality and tourism books. His research interest is on hospitality education, hospitality operations management, human resource planning and hospitality marketing. As an established academician, he has published and presented 33 research papers in various National and International Conferences/ Research Journals (in Scopus indexed and ABDC 'C' Category).
  • Dr. Amit Tariyal

    Experience: 18 years (Industry & Academics)
    Dr. Amit Tariyal is an Assistant Professor in the School of Hospitality Management at IMS Unison University Dehradun. He is a certified Instructor of the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute. His area of specialization is Food & Beverage Service and Mixology. He has worked with various international hotels including Shangri-La, New Delhi, Radisson MBD, Noida, and other prestigious institutions. Dr. Tariyal qualified for UGC (NET) in 2017 and completed his Ph.D. in Management from IMS Unison University, Dehradun. He has received the grant of two product-based patents on designing bar equipment and published book chapters and multiple research papers in ABDC, Web of Science, and Scopus-indexed journals including Springer and Taylor and Francis. He has presented multiple research papers at national and international conferences and participated in workshops and faculty development programs organized by prestigious institutions to further enhance his professional skills.
  • Dr. Abhay Chamoli
    Assistant Professor

    Experience: 16 years (Industry & Academics)
    Dr. Abhay Chamoli is an Assistant Professor in the School of Hospitality Management at IMS Unison University Dehradun. He holds a master's degree, a bachelor's degree in hotel management, and a diploma in hotel management and catering technology. Dr. Chamoli completed his Ph.D. in Hotel Management from Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Meerut, UP. He has published four kitchen and bar equipment patents, two book chapters, and seven research papers in peer-reviewed journals, including those indexed in UGC Care,ABDC and Scopus. He is a certified "Food Handler" with a Diploma in Food Safety &Nutrition along with HACCP (FSC) Certification (FSM S) From London (UK). His areas of interest are Food Science, Menu Engineering, and Provincial and International Cuisines. Chef Chamoli had academic associations with prestigious hotel management institutions of the region and maintained industrial associations with renowned hotel brands like Cidade de Goa, Oberoi's (Udaivillas), Crowne Plaza Gurgaon, Teheran-ro-Intercontinental Hotel Group (Seoul, South Korea), Chook-Dee (Phuket, Thailand), The Imperial (New Delhi) amongst others. He is a life member of the "Chefs Association of Five Rivers" (Punjab) along with "Indian Federation of Culinary Associations" and "World Association of Chefs' Societies."

    Mr. Shashi Kant is an Assistant Professor in the School of Hospitality Management at IMS Unison University Dehradun. He has graduated from the prestigious IHM Hajipur. Mr. Kant started his career with Taj Hotels & Resorts and joined The Gateway Hotel, Kolkata. During his tenure, he was relocated with Iconic Taj Bengal Alipore, The Gateway Residency Road Bengaluru, Vivanta by Taj MG Road. Passion for teaching and learning motivated Mr. Kant to undertake a career in academics. He is a certified trainer from Bar Smart (Pernod Ricard), the USA which is an exclusive global certification program for bartenders. Mr. Sashi is also an avid online trainer for the food and beverage services domain and runs you-tube channel for budding hoteliers dedicated to food & beverages services and wines. He enjoys teaching and research and very passionately guides his students for a career in the hotel industry.
  • Mr. Devashish Pandey

    Mr. Devashish Pandey is an Assistant Professor in the School of Hospitality Management at IMS Unison University, Dehradun. He is a graduate in Hotel Management from Vel’s IHM - Chennai and is also holds a master’s degree in Hotel Management and is presently pursuing a Ph. D in Management. During his service tenure, he has worked with Hyatt Regency Chennai, Movenpick Hotels Doha, Qatar, Restaurant as Head Chef, IAM-IHM, Guwahati as Food Production Faculty, Lovely Professional University as Assistant Professor and Deputy Academic coordinator and with BFIT Group of Institution as HOD-Hotel Management. He is a specialized in Indian and International cuisine. Mr. Devashish is a member of the World Association of Chefs Society (WACS), a Lifetime member of Indian Culinary Forum (ICF), Indian Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA)), Lifetime member of Chef Association of Five Rivers, has FOSTAC Certification from FSSAI, and has Certification of Culinary Instructor from AHLEI. He has published 14 research papers in peer-reviewed (National and International journals), UGC CARE-listed journals, Scopus and “ABDC” journals, and has published 5 Patents. Mr. Devashish authored a book by the name of "Essentials of Food Science and Nutrition" and co-authored a book by the name of “Innovation and Essentials of Entrepreneurship”.
  • Mr. Sumit Pratap

    Mr. Sumit Pratap is an Assistant Professor in the School of Hospitality Management at IMS Unison University, Dehradun. He received a Post Graduate Diploma in International Hospitality Management from Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. Mr. Pratap holds two master’s degrees, one in Hotel Management and the other in Tourism and Travel Management. He has a four-year bachelor's degree in Hotel Management and Catering Technology. Mr. Pratap has held managerial positions with some notable brands, including the Langham Hotel in Auckland and Domino's Pizza India Limited. He has more than 19 years of extensive expertise in both operations and academia. Mr. Pratap has expertise in building positive organizational cultures, tutelage, and mentoring of the students into astute hospitality professionals. He has attended several renowned national and international seminars, workshops, and faculty development programmes. He has published seven research papers in prestigious national and international journals (Scopus indexed and ABDC 'C' Category).

    Mr. Naveen Uniyal is an Assistant Professor in the School of Hospitality Management at IMS Unison University Dehradun. He has completed a master’s degree in Hotel Management and bachelor’s degree in BBA Hotel Management. He has 8 years of rich experience in academics and industry. He has attended several seminars and faculty development programs for hospitality education. He had worked with some reputed educational groups, and his area of specialization is front office management. Mr. Naveen has received the best faculty of the year award in 2018 and an award for excellent work in Academic in 2014 in his earlier academic assignments. He is adept at working with students to successfully prepare them for personal and professional success in today’s world. Knowledgeable and experienced in various educational philosophies, which best promote the overall experience of a student.

She has extensive teaching experience in Hospitality Housekeeping Operations. Ms. Deepika has been associated with prestigious hospitality management institutes in Uttarakhand and her core competencies include people development, training, and motivation backed by ethics and honesty. She has attended several seminars and faculty development programs, train the trainer programmes, entrepreneurship development programmes of national repute.
