    BHARAT PARYATAN DIWAS (National Tourism Day)

     

    SoHM observed BHARAT PARYATAN DIWAS (National Tourism Day) on January 25, 2021 with an aim to create awareness about tourism & tourism products in India amongst the hospitality students. This was the day in 1966 when tourism was officially recognized as a separate subject by the Government, hence the significance. 

     

    This year, the theme of National Tourism Day is 'Dekho Apna Desh'. The tourism ministry wants to showcase the diverse culture of our country. 

     

    Host of online activities were organized with session from Industry Guests Speaker, along with students & faculty presentation.   

     

    First session was with Guest speaker, Mr Anshu Jaiswal, Senior Relationship Manager, Club Mahindra. He gave a small talk on importance of tourism and how Club Mahendra is contributing as one of the notable hospitality providers in the domestic circuit. 

     

    Poster Presentation was done by Depender Singh, Akshat Sawney, Shrey Pangtey, Kiran Bhandari, Sweta Kumari and Aijajul Haque from MHM program. 

     

    Themed online poem recital by Ritik Panwar and dance performance by Sheeba Prakash was creative. 

     

    The second session of the presentation was done by Ms. Megha Sharma, Assistant Professor SoHM on natural, cultural & gastronomical tourism heritage of India. The session also had visuals on “Dekho Apna Desh.” 

     

    Third session was a riveting visual presentation by Mr. Sumit Pratap Assistant Professor, SoHM, on theme " Incredible India" covering India’s abundant tourism offering and endorsement notes about India by noted professionals, tourists, and travel bloggers.
