Coffee Workshop – Brewing Skills, Blending Creativity

The School of Hospitality Management, IMS Unison University, successfully organized a Coffee Workshop aimed at providing students with hands-on exposure to the art and science of coffee brewing and presentation.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Sam Suman (Owner, Craft & Brew Barista Academy) and Mr. Bobby (Certified Barista, Caha by Romeo Lane), who shared their extensive expertise with students. The workshop combined theoretical insights, covering coffee’s origins, bean varieties, and global consumption trends, with practical training in preparing a wide range of cold and hot coffee beverages.

Students enthusiastically tried their hands at crafting cold brews like Ice Americano, Creamy Ice Matcha Latte, Turmeric & Jaggery Latte, Indian Latte, Ice Spanish Latte, Iced Mocha, and Irish Flat White, as well as hot favorites such as Café Latte, Cappuccino, Espresso, and Café Americano.

The resource persons emphasized techniques, flavor balance, and presentation styles, encouraging students to view coffee-making as a blend of creativity, precision, and customer experience. The workshop concluded with an engaging discussion on emerging coffee trends and the growing coffee culture in the hospitality industry.

Through such initiatives, the School of Hospitality Management continues to bridge the gap between academics and industry, equipping students with practical skills and industry-relevant expertise for modern professional demands.
