Interactive Webinar on 'Career in Films' organized by SOMC

An enriching & interactive webinar on the topic, 'Career in Films' was conducted by the School of Mass Communication as part of its orientation programme.

The resource person for the webinar was renowned Bollywood Sound Designer, Mr. Sanjay Chaturvedi whose outstanding work includes films like 102 Not Out, Dostana,Angrezi Medium, Luck by Chance, Wake up Sid, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Taare Zameen Par, Noor, 3G, Dekh Tamasha Dekh, Tukka Fitt, and the blockbuster 3 Idiots. He was the dialogue editor for Karthik Calling Karthik as well as Kites in 2010. He received the Best Sound Designer 'Apasara' award for his film Sanghai.

In his interaction with the students, he shared his experiences about working in the cut-throat but extremely rewarding Bollywood industry. He spoke about the various film-making techniques and the basics of filmmaking. He explained the nuances of Cinema and its rich history. He further discussed the impact of COVID 19 on the cinema industry and film production as a whole.

Mr. Sanjay Chaturvedi then focused on different career paths one can pursue in films and encouraged the fresh batch of SOMC students to try their luck in the industry, as he felt there was space for talent from any kind of background. He then happily answered the questions of the students and wished them luck for the future.
