Internal Faculty Seminar on Stigma, Discrimination, Legal & Ethical Issues in HIV/AIDS Care

Under the augis of Committee for Conference/Seminar/Workshop/Sympozia of School of Law an Internal Faculty Seminar was organized on September 28, 2019 at 03:00 P.M. in the Computer Lab, School of Law. The presentation was made by Prof. R. N. Sharma, Dean-School of Law, on the topic “Stigma, Discrimination, Legal & Ethical Issues in HIV/AIDS Care”. Ms. Arnisha Ashraf, introduced the subject. Prof. Sharma in his address explained the faculty members through Power Point Presentation the meaning of menace HIV/Aids the discrimination mated out with them by all section of the society like family members, members of the society, healthcare staff and other members of society. How they are leading segregated life with lot many hurdles. They are being victim of violation of their Fundamental Rights and Human Rights. Prof. Sharma explained with examples where HIV positive persons have been denied treatment and operation in the hospital leading to their death. It was also explained the myths about the communicability of HIV/Aids. He put forth suggestions to make the life of HIV/Aids infected persons. He also explained the duties of the society towards the HIV/Aids infected persons. He has also clarified that the HIV/Aids infected persons should also owe their duty towards the society. Many questions were raised by the participating faculties which were answered by Prof. Sharma.
