The School of Hospitality Management, IMS Unison University, celebrated International Housekeeping Week / Housekeeper’s Appreciation Day on 19th September 2025 at the Block-5 Seminar Hall. The event was dedicated to recognizing the invaluable contributions of housekeeping professionals and enriching students with industry exposure.
The celebration was inaugurated with ceremonial lamp lighting by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Deans, and faculty members, followed by a graceful Saraswati Vandana. In his address, the Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of the housekeeping profession in everyday life and the hospitality sector.
The technical session featured a lecture and live towel origami demonstration by Ms. Sahiba Praveen, Manager Housekeeping, Hotel LP Vilas, and an interactive talk on HR practices and professional development by Ms. Anukriti Mishra, HR Executive, Hotel LP Vilas. Students also presented a skit highlighting the dedication and challenges of housekeeping professionals.
Adding vibrancy to the program, students showcased cultural performances including singing and dance, while fun activities like a musical chair competition encouraged active participation of the university housekeeping staff.
A felicitation ceremony was organized to honor the university’s housekeeping team for their invaluable service, followed by a cake-cutting and hi-tea session.
The event successfully blended academic learning, cultural activities, and community appreciation, fulfilling its objective of honoring housekeeping professionals and promoting the true spirit of hospitality.
