The School of Law at IMS Unison University, Dehradun, organized the Judgment Writing Competition 2025 on November 1, 2025, under the guidance and support of the Dean, School of Law, Prof. (Dr.) Amit Adlakha.
This event saw participation from a commendable number of law students spanning from the second to the fifth year, contributing to its success. The competition's problem focused on the Law of Torts, specifically addressing the denial of voting rights to an individual.
Prior to the competition, students received guidance on how to structure their judgments and were informed about the appropriate format. The event was judged by our esteemed faculty member, Mr. Rajiv Kumar. The top three students were awarded Certificates of Excellence based on marking criteria that included formatting, clarity of arguments, legal reasoning, and justification.
Ms. Harshita Kapil from the fourth year of BA.LLB secured the first position, while Ms. Ishika Thakur from the third year of BBA.LLB and Mr. Shrey Jaiswal from the second year of BBA.LLB claimed the second and third positions, respectively. Several students narrowly missed the top three and were recognized for their efforts, including Mr. Amit Kumar Singh, Ms. Sanskriti Badoni, and Ms. Ishika Dixit.
The Valedictory Ceremony took place in the Seminar Hall, Block V, where Ms. Harshita Kapil, Ms. Ishika Thakur, and Mr. Shrey Jaiswal received their certificates from the Dean of the School of Law, Prof. (Dr.) Amit Adlakha.
The event coordinator extends gratitude to Dr. Shoaib Mohammad, Dr. Kumud Malviya, and Dr. Satish Mishra for their assistance and support. Mr. Aniket Rai, Assistant Professor at the School of Law, coordinated the event.
