National Interdisciplinary Conference 2019 hosted by SOHM

School of Hospitality Management and School of Liberal Arts celebrated International Women's Day, 2019 by jointly hosting a highly successful one day National Interdisciplinary Conference “Challenging the Status Quo: Gendered Empowerment and Change."The event brought together academics industry professionals, researchers and students from diverse disciplines and fields across the curriculum in a series of well attended sessions on Gender and the Professions, Gender and Culture, and Empowerment. 

The inaugural keynote addresses were given by Prof. Amita Kapoor of Delhi University and Major(Retd.) Geeta Gawali of Ananda in the Himalayas. The keynote speaker were ably supported in an energized panel discussion by Dr. Juhi Garg of UPES, Ms. Anvita Kishore of Antara Senior Living and rising young researcher Ms. Damini Pant. 

The valedictory address was delivered by the Chief Guest by Ms. Nivedita Kukreti, IPS, SSP Dehradun who urged the young audience become aware not only of their rights but also their responsibility for building a gender-balanced society in the future.
