School of Mass Communication organizes Special Session on Growth and Development of Indian Cinema

 

In order to apprise the students of the School of Mass Communication on the growth and evolution of Indian Cinema, a special session was organized as part of the History of Journalism and Media in India course. 

 

Students presented and analyzed the growth and development of Indian Cinema. Students discoursed how Indian Cinema has grown to be a cultural powerhouse, not only impacting our daily lives but also providing employment to lakhs of people. Iconic movies like Lagaan, Sholay, Mother India, Deewar, Bombay Goa, etc., were discussed to understand how these masterpieces had a lasting impression on movie audiences. TV as a new medium of movies in the COVID- 19 era, iconic movies, the future of cinema, growth of streaming sites, cable TV were some of the topics discussed by the SOMC students.

 

The session concluded with a fun pop quiz conducted by Ms. Seema Shukla, testing the cinema knowledge of the students.
