    The 1st National Mediation Competition-2020 Day-2

    Day 2 of the 1st National Mediation Competition, 2020 organized by the School of Law, IMS Unison University’s, commenced with the briefing of the judges, followed by the draw of lots and the briefing of the clients.

     

    The event for the day was disseminated into Semi Finals and the Final. The event proceeded with enthusiastic discussions among the 4 teams. The Semi Final rounds witnessed a session of intricate questions by the clients and the prudent explications by the teams. After the exuberant Semi Finals the judges awarded their respective markings.

     

    The Judges for today’s exuberant Semi Final Rounds and Final Rounds included eminent and respected advocates in Dehradun: The Semi Final rounds were followed by the pronouncement of the results of the Semi Finals and the draw of lots for the Finals.

     

    2 teams qualified for the Finals. The Finals endorsed the teams in full action, as they advanced with skillful advocacy and precisely contrived elucidation. The participants were well versed and answered the arduous question put up by the proficient clients with utmost sincerity and meticulousness. The impressive articulation of the participants left the judges in admiration as they evaluated their performance.

     

    The exultant final rounds were followed by a valedictory ceremony, it preceded with an overview of the report of the competition by Dr. Shoaib Mohammad (Faculty Convener).

     

    The report was preceded by words of wisdom by Dean, School of Law, IMS Unison University Prof. (Dr.) R.N. Sharma.

     

    Further, the exuberant welcome address was delivered by Honorable Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Ravikesh Shrivastava.

     

    Honorable Chief Guest, Mr. Himanshu Upadhaya (Advocate Supreme Court of India) while addressing the gathering with his enlightening words, deliberated the importance of mediation as a systematic approach towards the alternate dispute resolution. He further stated the importance of such competitions which ignite the spirit of learning and reverence in Students of Law who will be the Lawyers of the future.

     

    The much awaited results were announced in the following categories:

     

    Winner Team (cash prize 2000) – NLU Jodhpur

    First Runner up team (cash prize 1500) – UPES Dehradun

    Best Advocate (cash prize 1000) – Charu Sharma

    Best Mediator (cash prize 1000) – Parinishtha Ganz

    Best Client – Shivam Pratap Singh Chauhan

     

    The Faculty Co-Convener Mr. Shekhar Singh expressed thanks and gratitude to the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, sponsors, participants and the organizing team for successfully conducting this mega event. He invited all the participants to meet again in 2021 in the 2nd Edition of National Mediation Competition that School of Law, IMS Unison University proposes to organize.
