The School of Hospitality Management hosted “V- Day” a Valentine Theme Buffet on 14-2-2020, an academic project on theme lunches, as part of experiential learning for hospitality students.
Valentine’s Day does not only mean a celebration for romantic couples but it means business for florists, gift shops or cafes, it is significant to any business revolving around a thought of love. Valentine's Day is a big business for restaurateurs and retailers as they get a truly healthy spike in their business.
Running a restaurant business is all about understanding and taking a peek into the psychology of the customers. Food promotions built on theme are intrinsic skills that a hospitality manager should possess.
The hospitality students created an ambience for the theme at SoHM and presented a buffet spread of very creatively titled dishes : Sunkissed Soup, Single Happy Burger, Marry Me Pasta, Heartfelt Pizza, Love Me Cupcakes, Strawberry Smoothies, Rose Mousse and Valentine's Cake.The special Mocktails from Training Bar were Love Forever and U & Me.
The Honourable Vice Chancellor- Dr Gautam Sinha, Pro-Vice Chancellor- Dr Ravikesh Srivastava, Officers of the University, Deans and Heads of various Schools were present for the theme lunch, to savour the ambience and creative buffet spread prepared by various student teams of SoHM.
