Workshop on Identifying & Debunking Medical Misinformation organized by SOMC

An online workshop on Identifying & Debunking Medical Misinformation was organized by the School of Mass Communication. 

The resource person was Dr. Aditya Kumar Shukla, Assistant Professor, SOMC & a certified Fact and Fit Trainer from the Health Fact-Checking India Network. 

In the informative workshop for SOMC students, Dr. Shukla spoke about the rise in misinformation with the proliferation of the COVID 19 pandemic. He highlighted how important medical news related to the pandemic gets distorted and misinterpreted. He emphasized the need for video verification, image verification, source verification among many other aspects. The workshop then concluded with a question and answer session followed by the Vote of Thanks.

Overall, it was an enriching session for the budding of journalists of SOMC.
